Counterpoint: Lotus engineered in lightness. Seats were skinned in bridge of weir leather. One of the finest cars ever built, etc.

I agree with him. I've owned over 100 cars and the one that gave me the most trouble was the DeLorean.

Bill, your starting to come across as a bitter old man, You slam our Deloreans, You slam Burns,You slam dmctalk, I just want you to know if you start slamming green pimp hats,or people with cheeeep plastic bottles driving to Ohio on 33 year old rubber, Steve may have 2 give you a time out -----or worst make you ride down the interstate on 33 year old rubber!!

I believe "honesty" is the word you are looking for.

I don't slam DeLoreans -- I just don't turn a blind eye to their myriad shortcomings. You don't see me selling my cars.... But by the same token I don't have a shrine to the damn things in my house. I definitely don't worship at JZD's feet.

Chris Burns slammed me first, on no basis other than herd behavior. What does he know about carburetion? I rebuild the things. I adapt them onto non-factory applications. A reasonable argument can be made that I know more about carburetion than he does.

Likewise, DMCTalk slammed me. When (if?) the .com archives are restored I will let Talk's words stand on their merit.

As far as Josh's crappy old tires and crappy plastic expansion tank are concerned: you won't see me ragging on them. I recognize that his name is on his car's title, not mine. Until he makes me co-owner, I don't have a vote.

(I am fully within my rights to rag on Josh's crappy lesbian porno flick because I spent $25 on the damn thing. Blue has been ordered. After it arrives we'll let some innocent Today members watch them both and render the final verdicts).

And if you damn kids don't turn that music down I'm calling the cops.

As do I - I was using it in the satirical context... but you're right, even thus, it's still offensive. I apologize....

This is why I am flying into Detroit, or wherever Josh is picking me up, and I will be flying home from Dayton. I don't mind being late for DCS but I don't want to risk missing my flight home.

I may wind up needing to be picked up from the airport as well.

I could shuttle you to/from Dayton, depending upon your flight schedule - even though you should drive the Series 62 :)

Just make sure you bring some comfortable walkin shoes and have the art of thumbing down a ride perfected

So far, I intend to. Though, it comes down to logistics and economic reasoning; e.g. does it make sense to bring the car up to Wisconsin when I'm moving to Houston by December?

If I can get it to me within time and budget, then I will.

Does Josh not have a parcel shelf for the third passenger? Louie Golden once hauled two people on his parcel shelf (plus two in his passenger seat -- 5 people total).

I am seriously thinking of making the drive to Dayton now that Talk people are convinced I am afraid my car will get vandalized. I might not need an airport shuttle should I do this.

Sorry, but Josh's car has a max capacity of two, unless someone wanted to ride in the luggage compartment

Wow! Matt's car looks like Boo. Except he has a binnacle around his gauge cluster. Mine is bungee corded to the steering column for now. The only reason it's even hooked up is to keep the alternator charging, charging at 15 volts that is. Tom and Dave call Boo the "Explod-a-view" Delorean. Because the only interior parts in it right now are the seats and seat belts.
I like to think of it as a work in progress that 'hopefully' will have a full interior by the middle of the summer. The "Duet-Lorean" is progressing. Tom, Dave, and I put in the rear lowering springs and spax shocks yesterday.

Shameless BTTF reference:

Bill to adhere to the "Be nice" rule of dmctoday I will rephrase your post.

"Hold it fellas, I'm afraid you're just too darn loud."

Sorry but couldn't stay away. Especially with the fact that that quote will be plastered on my rear fascia between the 'mufflers'.

I need to start taking Bill photos when I see him. I almost forgot what he looked like. Oh and on Herveys home page the guy standing next to him in the one photo is a spitting image of my neighbors brother Julius. Speaking of Hervey, I emailed him to ask how much drivers and passenger molded sill carpets would cost and I got a lightening fast reply (fast for hervey) but all he wrote was that his carpets are sewn not molded and that most of the OEM carpet sections are not molded. Never gave me any price quote. The sill carpets are actually molded from DMC though. I guess I'll be buying some black vinyl and sewing the vinyl strip on myself come summer. THANK YOU AGAIN BILL FOR THE CARPET DYING, YOU'RE JUST TOTALLY AWESOME ! I will worship Bill because personally I have every right and reason to do so. Let the talkers talk on talk i wont jut be on today today. I also praise Tom Neiland and Dave Delman. (Racing credit and signature credit reference)
