I'd really like to make it this year. That weekend is tough, but I'm going to try to be ready anyway.

My time off was approved, so 1798 and I will be making this tour - looking forward to it

I think I'm going to put the NCT's back on so that I get the full grand touring experience....

If I fly in, can I ride shotgun?

I'm off next week, and planning to get my exhaust installed. If I get my car out of the garage & ready, I might tow it to MI for the driving tour.

If I'm unable to accomplish that mission, I'm still interested in going.

One bathtub has been reserved for you. Suggest bringing pillow & blankie.

LMFAO.....fair enough!

Which direction/where are you coming from? Passing by an airport?

Does anyone know which direction/where Josh is coming from?

Is anyone known to be flying solo and passing by an airport?

I'm off this week and will be installing my exhaust. I'll determine if I can make it & if I'll fly or drive.

Yo, yo - got your text message but was in the process of going into a dead-zone, which is why I didn't get the opportunity to text back.

Anyway, I haven't really determined my route as of yet. I basically have two options, and both have major airports en route:

Northern Route: MKE, GRB, MQT
Southern Route: ORD, MDW, GYY, GRR

I'd prefer to go the northern route only because I've never done it before and there'd be far less traffic, but if the southern works better for you, it's no problem - just let me know and I can accommodate :headbang:

Man I'm jealous. I really wanted to fly up there for the weekend but just don't feel right about it being that my dad is in poor health and mom is going to be out of the country during that weekend.

I didn't get my car ready....I'm really overwhelmed with life this year.

If I go, I'll fly in & ride with Josh

Next year will be a "DeLorean year" for me....no working on the house.

If I can volunteer Andrew, there may be an extra seat out of Lansing if flying in there is more convenient :D

1798 made the extremely rainy trip through the UP and is in Petoskey tonight - staying at Odawa resort and already hit up the casino tonight

If anyone else is also already here, hit me up. I'll be having the complimentary breakfast at the hotel tomorrow morning :bananadance:

All of the cool kids were at the driving tour this weekend except for me. I was planning to fly up there this year until I realized mom would be out of town.

Next year I am definitely going to drive up there.

1798 arrived back home in Wisco at around midnight in yet another extremely rainy drive, but I didn't mind, as my ears were bathed in luxurious quadraphonic stereo sound the entire trip, and thanks to Patrick, who's the MFM, I was actually able to see my cigar lighter in the dark once again so none of the fine Cubans I had earmarked for the return trip went to waste, unlike what happened on the journey there, which was a major Category 3 DeLorean emergency. I mean, I'm lucky I made it to Michigan at all without an active illuminator ring around the lighter. Your average DeLorean owner would have immediately turned around and cancelled or pulled into a roadside shop for service, but not me, for I am one of the DeLorean fearless, baby!

Special shout-out to Patrick's parents and Ruby, who were hands down INCREDIBLE hosts - you guys really made us feel like part of the family and I'm definitely looking forward to next time

In the hopes of goading Lou out of where-ever he's been hiding, I'll be posting some pics from the tour soon :chad:

On another note, during the drive home, it dawned on me that I really need to replace the headlights with aviation runway signals so as to compliment the recently installed train horn :bananadance:

Upon my return to Lansing, I ordered a lower cable, new dust cap and spare angle drive for 5052. The new (shorter) lower cable makes a world of difference! Hopefully I won't be doing another angle drive anytime soon, but should the need arise, I have a spare in my cubby :-) I have also added my trusty 1 1/4 wrench to my trunk!
