My car desperately needs new tires. They may still have 1981 air in them.
I want larger wheels, but can't afford to lower the car right now, but will do so in the future.

What size wheels / (tire size) do you recommend knowing that the car will be lowered in the future and I don't want a wheel/tire drama down the road?

Thanks for any advice.

Hi Ross. Just saw your email. I am using 17" and 18" XXR wheels with www.DeLorean-parts.com rear wheel spacers. I did have to roll the lips of the rear fenders a bit.

My wheels are:

Front: XXR 502 SL/SS 17X7 4X100 +40
Rear: XXR 502 18x8.5 4-100/4-114.3 [+35mm]

Thank you Patrick, very helpful. I love your wheels, but they are not available now new. I may be able to source 4 if I work it.
I also saw some XXR Turbulence wheels which look a bit like stock but are directional. These are 17 and 16, though. No 18 with the 4 lug.

Does anyone know of any other companies wheels that will work? Right now I am only looking at XXR because that is all I see. Thanks all!
